Regency Therapy by Lisa H. Catmull (Austenprose PR Book Tour)

Have you ever wanted to stay at a literary based resort?  Austenland the book and movie has made me want to visit such a place for fun.  Matchmaking Therapy and Regency Therapy have furthered my dreams of visiting such a place.

Matchmaking Therapy is a quick novella that sets up the premise of the Hartfield Regency Resort in Loveland, Colorado. Britni has just played her dream role of Emma in a play at college and can’t wait to move to New York City for the summer with her boyfriend Kirk.  She is shocked to discover that Kirk is engaged to her nemesis behind her back.  Not wanting to be embarrassed in front of everyone at the after party by this announcement, she makes an announcement of her own that she is making her own Regency based resort in Colorado.   Kirk tries to call her bluff by saying they will all visit her there in a week for a party.  Her father wants to make this happen and helps her to get an estate.  Unfortunately, it is occupied by a man named Axel and she can only lease it from him.  Sparks fly between the two and as Britni starts to staff the resort, we have the perfect set-up for the first full length book in the Jane Austen Vacation Club series), Regency Therapy.

In Regency Therapy, Lucy is a regency romance author who has been sent by her publisher to the Hartfield Regency Resort in Loveland, Colorado by her publisher.  On the way there, she meets a sexy Cowboy named Ryder on an airplane. She unwittingly makes fun of the book he has written, and then finds out he is her nemesis.  They both have the same publisher, and their books are always released the same week.  Ryder’s always sell better.  Ryder believes he is on the way to a Ranch, but soon finds out that he is also going to the Hartfield Regency Resort.  The publisher wants the romance writers to learn about horses, etc. and write with more knowledge on the subject.  She wants the western authors to learn more about romance.  Will Lucy and Ryder be able to get over their own pride and prejudice?

I loved the rom com feel to both of these books.  The banter and mood of the novels was fun.  I laughed out loud a few times.  I also enjoyed that they were sweet, clean romances.  I loved how Regency Therapy was a modern-day Pride and Prejudice story.  I am looking forward to the rest of the books in this series!

BOOK DESCRIPTION

My publisher invited me to attend an all-expenses paid writing retreat at the posh new Hartfield Regency Resort in Loveland, Colorado. Carole isn't nice like that—there must be a catch.

There is. His name is Ryder Hawk, the outlaw leader of the all-male Western writers who work for the same publishing company. He thinks he’s agreed to attend an all-expenses-paid week at a dude ranch.

Yeah, no. Carole has other ideas. She wants to break into the cowboy romance market. If I want to renew my writing contract, I have to do more than put up with Ryder and his gang of cowboy cronies for a week. We have to write together.

The problem is, Ryder and I have a history.

And it’s more like war than peace.
