Tatum Comes Home (The Dog Agency Novels) by Tatum Talks with Mica Stone (Bibliolifestyle Book Tours)

Thank you, Partner @bibliolifestyle @kensingtonbooks for the review copy of Tatum Comes Home by Tatum Talks with Mica Stone.

Do you have a favorite book, movie, or show that you love about dogs?   I have many that I have enjoyed through the years.  My now seventeen-year-old son Kile went through a few years of loving all things dog back when he was around five years old.  An old favorite I loved watching with him again was The Incredible Journey which was remade in the 1990’s as Homeward Bound.  Both movies are wonderful.

Tatum Comes home reminds me of The Incredible Journey/Homeward Bound.  Tatum is scared by a storm and jumps into a truck that travels four hundred miles north of his home of Bangor, Maine.   Jed, the kindly man that finds him, treats him well and has the best intentions to reunite him with his owners.  Things do not quite work out, and Tatum meets more incredible people on his journey, impacting their lives on his way home.  Meanwhile, back in Bangor, his owners Charles and Nicole are frantically looking for Tatum.  Will they be reunited?

I have not seen the real-life Tatum who is a TikTok star at @hi.this.is.tatum.  The book (and cover) is based on the real-life dog and his personality, but it is not his true story.  The only flaw to this book was the short blurb at the start of each chapter which was supposed to be in Tatum’s voice.  It was baby talk with a few intentional misspellings sprinkled in.  I can believe in a dog talking but spelling everything right except for two words drove me crazy.  I just started skipping these blurbs and I was happier.  I think I need to check out the real-life Tatum now.  My rescue dog, Spot, agrees.

Tatum Comes Home is the perfect book if you are looking for a heart-warming story with a perfect ending.  This is a clean read and would be appropriate for teens/preteens as well.
