White
Christmas wedding is a tale of many people who are coming together in a small
Michigan town for a Christmas wedding.
Two worlds collide as wealthy New Yorkers descend on the small rural
town for the wedding.
Beth
Dean would love to get married in New York City, but has returned home for her
wedding so that her beloved Grandmother can attend. It also helps to keep the spirit of her late
father as part of the wedding festivities.
Beth loves her fiancée Tom, but his mother, Gloria, drives her crazy,
bringing a copy of a prenuptial agreement with her to Michigan. Beth’s friend Jen is starting her wedding
planning business with this wedding as her first. She has things planned perfectly, but a
snowstorm lays waste to the perfect plans.
Beth’s bridesmaid and friend Destiny wonders if she should have settled
down right after high school or if she should have tried life in the big city,
while New Yorker Sylvia finds herself attracted to rural man with few words,
Winston.
Narrator
Charlotte Penfield had a halting style that I had a hard time listening to with
this audiobook. I loved the story itself
and the entire caste of characters. It had
great humorous moments and great moments of people understanding what is most
important in their lives. As a native
Michigander, I could relate to many moments, although some didn’t make sense
(such as people in the country not having snow blowers and just driving out of
their driveways with their trucks. . . maybe for some that works, but that is definitely
not true.)
Overall,
White Christmas Wedding was a delightful multi-arc Christmas audiobook that reminds the
reader what is most important at weddings and Christmastime.
